This R&D process looked at performing not only for children, but also with them, helping to guide their experiential creative play
The materials and objects became the focus of our process, finding out what they responded to and how they played. This is at the core of our Imaginary Leaps creative play program for early years
We used projections, specially composed music, performance and play to surprise and delight small children, allowing them to respond in their own way
We also played in a childlike way, using our own performing arts skills and techniques, creating images and provoking feelings.
Ultimately, we realised that we were creating a show about love and freedom, and how we can love children so much we restrict their freedom to grow. Sometimes we need to let go in order to let them reach the sky.
